Future Engineers!

What a great sound circle we had for the letter Y.  Check out the Yield sign that Brennan and his dad made out of legos...awesome!

Friends were intrigued by the utility work being done during recess.  We loved seeing the huge drill dig a hole for the new telephone pole being put in!

Colton and Declan work together to create a fantastic marble maze.  Look at those faces...how proud!

Wow!  Look at all the engineering we saw today during morning free choice!

Friends build a "bridge" to go across the deep puddle underneath our swing.  What a great idea!

The Letter Y

During morning meeting, we read our letter Y Alphatales story.  We loved reading about the
Yak who Yelled Yuck!

Thanks to Declan and Cora for writing our upper and lowercase Ys.

Another fantastic word list!

Friends work together to create an awesome mural during morning free choice.
Madisyn and Olivia draw Shimmer and Shine...fantastic!

Creative Kids!

Cora and Olivia use the overhead projector and the dry erase board to create an awesome person out of shapes :)

Friends use the dry erase boards to write X words from our word list.

Theo and Allie write the entire alphabet during quiet choices.  Wow!
Check out that writing and those illustrations!

The Letter X

During morning meeting on Monday, we read our Alphatales story for the letter X.

Colton and Violet show us how to write the upper and lowercase x on the whiteboard.

Not a bad word list for such a tricky letter :)

The Discoverers pose for a quick photo as we line up to go inside from morning recess.

We make a batch of puff paint using flour, water, baking powder, salt and food coloring during morning free choice.  Be sure to check out all of our masterpieces in the cubby area...
they are pretty fantastic!

X is for x-ray!  Ms. Katie shows friends some real x-rays of a dog's ribcage.

Our letter X sound circle yielded quite a few x-rays and xylophones today.  X sure is a tricky letter!
